Raven had her first play last night at nursery. Noah's Ark. It was cute. She was a ladybird's head. Here she is sitting on the lap of a giant carrot and with a dragon by her side:
A gasket thingy blew as the plumber was putting up a radiator 3 weeks back and long story short, the damage to our 3 month old oak parquet flooring in the entire living room/kitchen means it all has to come up and new stuff put down. Yes, the insurance covers it, but the hassle is more than I can bear just now!
Our tenant has broken a window in the flat and not told us. I only realised tonight and called him. "Oh, yeah - that's been there for months. No idea how it happened, tho!" Well, don't you think you should've told us and maybe get into contact with your insurance company??? "Me? Doesn't your insurance cover it?" Ehem, no - wtf!!!
A friend of mine has died. She was 35 and leaves behind 3 children. Not sure what happened, but it was suicide. She was found in a burnt out car in a remote spot somewhere. That was last Friday - 2 days after not turning up to pick her youngest up from kindergarten. The funeral is Saturday. I am completely gobsmacked and just keep thinking of her kids. The eldest is 18 and the little ones are 6 and 7. She was a single mum and although I'd not seen her for ages we were keeping in contact on Facebook. She was also the first of my old mates to call me when I returned to Denmark. I'm just completely shocked. Still not really sunk in. And she still just sits there smiling on Facebook as though nothing had happened.
I'm slowly starting to introduce Arthur to solids, but yet again he proves to be much harder work than his sister. He pulls faces and spits the food out – no matter what I offer him. Raven was a great eater from day one. Well, I suppose it doesn't matter if he's a slow starter, cos he'll be fine on breast milk alone for another month if necessary – although of course I will offer him solids every day as well.
I got the tests results from the doctor. I'm very healthy – as in, my cholesterol, blood sugar etc. are all well within normal. So, I'm not diabetic. I am, however, allergic to the only antibiotic I'm allowed due to penicillin allergy and breastfeeding. And I'm still suffering from the side effects. Still have the rash and still have the mouth issues. It's not thrush by the way. Taste distortion has got to be one of the most annoying ailments I have ever suffered by the way.
Arthur has got to be the strongest little fellow I've ever met. His grasp is so fierce it's unreal. And... and... he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth – that's the precursor to crawling! He's not even 6 months old yet! It's mad! And there I was all scared that he was a bit slow and retarded, but he definitely isn't. He seems to see everything and is into everything. He follows Angel around with his eyes and when we go for a walk he sits with his head hanging over the edge of the pram to look at Angel. Raven didn't give a toss about Angel till quite recently. It's funny how different children are. Of the same mother and father and of the same womb.
Speaking of Raven, she's such a little parrot at the moment. Her language is coming on leaps and bounds – it's absolutely hilarious.
I promised my husband sex tonight so I better go tend to him whilst I'm still awake...
Mette, I need you to come to Snedsted August 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th – all days inclusive. Please.
